Title: Homebuckers for my homebuild
Post by: Kimling86 on October 13, 2011, 12:38:45 PM
Hi guys
I've just started the progress of building my own guitar.
It's going to be a  686mm (27") 7 string Rhoads. Walnut neck-through, padouk fingerboard, mahogany wings. TOM bridge.

I'm quite set on the Cold Sweat for the neck spot, but I'm not so sure about the bridge? Any ideas?

I'm going to be using the guitar for some melodic death metal ala At the Gates, old In Flames yada yada yada. But also for some tech stuff hence the Cold Sweat neck PU for some cool sounding sweeps.

Hit me, baby!

I would say a painkiller, especially for At the gates :) In flames is a bit fatter in its texture. An alnico warpig would do that trick :)

But:
Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller, Painkiller!

I was kinda leaning towards the Painkiller as I already have one in my Tokai, and it is bloody awesome!
