Get one of these if you do http://www.strymon.net/products/elcapistan/

All the sounds of a tape echo, all the weirdness but you have the option of choosing if it's going to go mental or not.
The space echo is completely nuts, it does what it want's and starts playing you!  Plus they take up lots of pedal board space  :D

Sounds ace Tom - nice stuff. Looks like you were getting into the groove on the Space Echo vid. Would love a vintage one but am wondering if the digital models have the same depth?

Funny you should say that Ian as I was struggling to get in the groove with the space echo as the timing is different to a normal delay.  The tape warble and different head positions take a little getting in to!

I think the Line 6 tube tape echo is nice, but the Strymon one is the only one I've tried that really does sound like the real thing and has that depth you mention.

Cheers Tom - Strymon added to the list of future potential purchases!

It was around 2 to 3 mins in on the echo clip that I thought you looked like you were getting into it.

Nice sounds man! I had the Space Echo 501 in the past. Nice sounds, big thing to carry around and a hassle with the tapes. The Strymon-vids I heard are very convincing. Btw, the whole Strymon-range is appealing.

Great way to do a demo. Real time adjustments really give an idea of the units capabilities.
