I don't get very excited about amp threads, but I must say that is very cool.

Pics or it doesn't exist....

Yeah, I'm not Marshall-addict at all, but this one is tempting though. Congrats.

Likewise.

To be fair I can't access Photobucket in work either.

Wow sweet.

A YJM in a Purple coverband seems like a beautiful match - think I'd like to attend that rehearsal and hear you "BURN" through that 100 watter ;)

Thanks for the replies guys!

Unfortunately my session was short lived! After about 10 mins things started to go wrong!

I started off plugging my guitar into the top left input (high treble) and jumpered the other two inputs and it sounded awsome!

After 10 mins the channel seemed to break. The sound is now incredibly muffled, like some one has removed all the treble and presence from it. All the other inputs work as they should but the first input is dull and lifeless.

The boost also reduces the volume by about 1/2 when it is engaged lol. If I turn off the built in noise gate the boost works as it should! If I turn the noise gate control past 3 rather than cutting the volume level it silences the whole amp!

So annoyed! Cracked the Marshall AFD100 out for the rehearsal it as usual it sounded great but want that Plexi sound!!

On to Andertons this morning then!

That sucks. After Twinfan's AFD100 experience a while back I begin to wonder what happened to QC at Marshall? Are they turning into the Gibson of amp-makers?

My AFD turned out to be absoutely fine - it was a voltage-in-my-house issue  :)

Bit of a bummer about your YJM mate  :(

It is bummer about the YJM, and Dave I know it turned out to be the voltage, but how long did it take for them to sort out a problem like that?

It was a process of elimination after hearing a few reports from users using really low power scaling settings, and having a couple of amps sent back for testing (where they were fine).

It probably took a couple of months in total elapsed time?  Santiago nailed it in the end on the Marshall forum if I remember correctly.  Marshall customer service was excellent, they even asked me to pop to the factory if possible and they'd show me around while they looked into the problem.

I'm sorry to hear the YJM is broken :( Nothing worse than problems with a new toy.

looks like a really good design from the demo videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VBxtErQuVU

That's really interesting. Very glad to hear that Marshall customer care was so good. I take back what I said!
