Yep, an end of a gigging era for me due to my change of job. 5 1/2 years with my AC/DC tribute band and I have my final gig tonight, in a local pub in Stockport. This was the first proper band I've been in, and I've learnt a hell of a lot. Especially how to get Angus' tone and play a bit like him!
It's been a really great experience that's honed my timing and use of gear, plus it's been an absolute pleasure to play with some great musicians. Oh, and a great drummer ;)
Hopefully tonight will be a top gig (I have quite a few friends and some family coming) but it'll be a bit sad too. The SG goes up for sale soon and maybe the half stack. :(
*sniff*

Is this at the Baker's Vaults by any chance?
-
Certainly is!
-
Then I'm not going
-
Kidding! I might stick my head round the door at some point, depends what time my guests bugger off tonight.
-
no satchel and shorts Dave? - I'm disappointed, ha ha
Have a good un, crank it up LOUD!!!
-
Don't worry mate, I will!
Come and say hello if you head over, Frank :)
-
Hope it's a good one. Always a sad night a final gig with a band you enjoy, but usually fun, too!
-
Final gigs are tough, man. When Monster Joe did its last gig after a twelve year run this summer, I died a bit on stage...
I have to ask though, selling the SG? Did you buy it specifically for this band?
-
Yep, I only use a SG with this band. I'm a PRS or Tele man...
-
Too bad man. Hope you get a band together soon.
-
By the time I got to this I would think its all over. I hope it went well Dave. I've always found last gigs very enjoyable in a bitter sweet way -unless I was glad to be going of course.
-
Sorry I couldn't make it, things dragged on all evening here. Hope it all ended on a high for you.
-
Cheers guys - it was an absolute cracker :D
Great way to end my tenure in the band!
-
It's good to end an era with a peak. :)

Also had last gig recently. It's not nice to finish, but an end is also always a beginning. Good luck with your new life. Hopefully you will find a Purple cover band or something equally cool :)
