Title: laney lc30/lc30II- difference =?

ok so im interested in buying a second hand laney lc30 but noticed it was an "original" not a mkII. just wondered does anyone what exactly the difference is between the two models?

i think i heard somewhere that the original has a worse speaker, but i'm not certain.

wait till big steve gets here (or pm him), he has an "original" one, i think

lol i assure you that at 5'10" i am normally proportioned in every way, i merely felt the "big" would make an appropriate prefix to cover up my insecurities and inadequacies to an all-believing internet audience.

but i digest.

the original is brighter and has a bit less gain than the mkII to my ears, bearing in mind however that i have only played the mkII for a pretty short period of time.

ok so ive spotted something fishy.... big steve you can probably help with this....

i was stupid not to notice this before i bought it but there are two pics of the control panel of the lc30 i bought.... one of the normal lc30 layout the other one a weird one that i can't see on any laney amp at all... dont know why the hell there was a pic of it on the listing... bit worried now  :?

the one of the whole amp is the proper layout then the thin pic of just the fascia is the dodgy one. anyone got any ideas???

the small picture looks like it has a top control pannel, not a front one.

ah ok... yer i know what you mean about a top panel- its cause it has a surround all the way round the panel whereas the front one doesnt have anything on the bottom edge if you see wot i mean lol.
