Title: Oh my dear Lord...
Post by: nikininja on October 29, 2011, 01:06:53 PM
I just fitted a PG Blues set into my Les Paul. Oh WOW, I didn't know Humbuckers could sound this good.

I had flipped the magnet on the neck pickup of the old set. But they were just far too bright, powerful and in all honesty a little brash.
Great for metal, but who doesn't have a signal booster pedal these days.

These PG's are everything I ever wanted. Really clear and balanced. Even the middle (out of phase) sound is full.  The notes seem to expand or bloom as they sustain.
I've the Sultans set in a Strat I own. They're great too. The sound changed as the pickups settled in. It softened a good bit. I hope these PG's suffer the same improvement over time.

Really really pleased. Even paid for some Grannies shopping when I was over the Co-Op earlier. I'm so delighted.

Thanks oh wonderful people at BKP. This is living.

Anybody want some BurstBucker III's?

Excellant news!
If you fancy doing more - try swapping the tone caps for he BKP /Jensen ones
TRy a 0.022uF on the bridge and a 0.015uF on the neck

Superb!

Good to hear! I took my ash Fender American Series HSS-strat today to rehearse and I'm digging the VHII more and more. Screams like crazy when asked and fat enough in ash, really. The Mother's Milk have more woodiness then the IT's in my swampashstrat, but are amazingly musically and touchsensitve. I'm drawn to the neckpickup all the time. Sorry for the little hijack, it's just my enthusiasm fand appreciation for BKP's.

FelineGuitars

After having played one of your guitars recently, I'll definitely take your advice. :D

Especially whilst it's free.
