Just a quick question - I've never ordered from either of these places and I'm wondering if their websites are reliable when they say "in stock"? Can't be arsed phoning.
Anyone used them?
-
ive order from guitarguitar without any issue. its where i got my old uberschall from.
-
Yep, GuitarGuitar I've used a couple of times and they've been spot on.
I've not used Gear4Music though.
-
are you buying this?

Rumbled! Well, I didn't want to miss out on that £4 saving....!
Thanks guys! GuitarGuitar it is then....
-
wow, that fireman is... slightly overpriced! considering that, i think Dave's private stock may have been a bargain :)
-
I've not used Gear4Music but have used GuitarGuitar a few times and they are probably the best place I bought from online. Their stock is real time updated and they even give you a nice phone call after you have ordered just to confirm everything.

It blummin was, tone for days!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'm never going to regard 7 or 8 grand as a bargain, but it does seem more justifiable for a PRS than an Ibanez.
Not because of any snobbery about where it's made (I love MIJ guitars), but at least the PRS models fit into a pricing structure, whereas that's about three times the price of any other Ibanez!
-
and the fireman doesn't have mammoth ivory inlays :D
-
I've bought something from Gear4Music without issue before.
Can't remember what it was though :?
-
That Fireman will be quite a collector though... it has got the "full fat" Paul Gilbert neck on it too.

Mammoth tusk or not, its the Ibanez for me. Having said that, 7k is ridiculous for it, but thats what they go for.
-
It's a fine guitar, I'm sure, but who's going to pay £7,495 for it?
Especially with the £900(?) Chinese version on the way at some point, with most of the features including the pickups (shame it won't be korina though)
-
i would think the mahogany one will be pretty close in tone. i'm sure that korina one is a brilliant guitar, and it's the one i'd go for too, but it's at least twice the price it should be. in fact, closer to £2000 would be more acceptable.

I agree - take 6k off it and they might sell it ;)
-
Blimey - even I'd make one for £7k - I might even include an Iceman too so you have a matching pair
Actually - that would be a nice touch I think!

Now that should put the final nail in the coffin for anybody thinking of buying that Fireman... Would be sub zero cool if presented in a dual guitar bag!
The production model is the one to go for. That Korina is way overpriced even if you like that sort of thing.

I don't think (hope) that any of us are thinking of it!

My mate does all the GuitarGuitar online orders stuff for Glasgow, they're really reliable, they don't have a centralised online set up so I'm not sure if all their shops are as bang on.
In most cases, the website will be accurate for the previous day, I think.
-
i think i've ordered from just about everyone else, but i don't think i've ordered from gg or g4m
And wow at the price of that fireman. Ibanez prices have gone a bit crazy recently, but even with that, that fireman looks ridiculous.
-
Guitarguitar are pretty good guys. When an amp I bought from them got lost in transit they helped out with getting a replacement out. Both amps turned up oddly (courier was probably late and lied about it to give themselves more time) and they arrange collection for one of the amps.
-

I find it utterly unacceptable to kill a mammoth just for guitar inlays.
-
It's getting all a bit silly with these prices. I reckon they have the hardware polished for days by some Swiss watchproducers, the plate must be from made some very rare shell near Madagascar and the korina body must have been chopped, carved and sanded by Paul himself, he even might bit his name in it. The dentistbill is included in the pricetag. But with 4 quid discount it gets interesting though...

Well, they came through with my order, arrived this morning. Very impressed! :D
And to be fair, I think online music shops in general have improved enormously in the last few years. Most of them are pretty slick operations nowadays.

I can confirm this for Thomann and Musicstore.
