So what does the Chopper do????

It transforms little-known Australian stand-up comics into international movie stars.  :P

Which does what?  i'm guessing it's some kind of overdrive?

Les Lius is an Electra Distortion with knobs on ;)

Sounds good, does the SHO thing by sounding great but actually being insanely simple. Will be making one for me when I get around to it.

Ditto, I've one of the original batch and not the later reissued ones.

Nah, you're ok guys. There isn't exactly much in there to get wrong... Besides I have enough on with a certain purple pedal that we'll be examining most closely ;)

The Les Lius switching is more complex than the actual circuit.  It does sound great though.

Don't forget to bring the purple and yellow pedals over tomorrow.

Lovepedal bumph.

This handmade guitar pedal features a three way toggle switch that allows you to change tones from 5E3 Woody (Tweed Fender Deluxe), High Power Twin (50's Fender Twin) and Master Volume Tchule (combination of both the 5E3 Woody and the High Power Twin). The amount of gain is controlled by the first knob. The second knob is a second gain stage which emulates what happens when you crank one of these vintage low wattage amplifiers.
Purple = Purple plexi?

The second gain stage makes me laugh, impressive with only one transistor.

Purple = not a purple plexi

Ah but my Mam & Dad are still in Gomersal - so I can bring it when I visit.

Nope, it's in a different league to that! I'm hoping you can get close as that will still be a $%&#ing impressive sounding pedal.

I've lent them my Skreddy ?Lady as it's a fuzz that gives me and several others the horn!

If it works I know of a lot of people that will be interested

The transistors are unobtanium. But we might be able to get close. Dunno how close yet, will need to build it up and experiment with it.

Update (mainly for shobet):

- Our slightly fettled Mayo isn't a million miles away from the Lady. Now we've mapped out all the components, we can see why. They've got a lot in common. Still the Mayo maxed is the Lady on half. The Lady has a massive amount more gain, it's also dirtier (though our Mayo has germ clippers in one stage of it to smooth it out a bit).

- Love Squeeze we have near as damnit the same as yours now. Put it this way I was getting mixed up which one was on...

- Bender working, will fettle a -9v voltage wobbler into there so you can plug it into the same psu as other pedals.

I like dirt. Especially in the female mind. On a serious note, is this with the UK or European transistors you thought would compare?

Potato man will be pleased! You should put a maris piper on the pedal decal!

You can bite my shiny metal ass!

Haven't built one to Lady specs yet. Will do that Sunday. Plus there's some transistors we want to get in to try with it. The hard bit is done though, ie, now we know what's in it and where it all goes. Was much easier to work out than expected! Essentially there are 3 transistors (out of the 4) that we need to socket, Then we just need to try a load of different things in there and see what does the business.

I daren't ask where the potato thing comes from...
