Title: Does Stockholm works in metalcore?
Post by: Shotgun on November 02, 2011, 08:47:19 PM
I have an idea. It's a bit crazy but I think about that put a Stockholm into my swamp ash/maple guitar bridge position for a very percussive and clear and very dynamic tone with dropA tuning cause I really like the P90 sound and I would like to create my own agressive metal tone.

Is it works fine or a bad idea? I'm afraid of the noise although I play low gain not fuzzy like most guitarist.

I think they should work fine. I like some mids in swampash guitars and the Stockholm has enough. According to what Nolly said in an earlier thread, the Stockholms can handle downtunings very well. P90's always have a bit more noise then hb's, but I never had much problems with them and I had a few p90-guitars. Btw, the clips of the Stockholm are quite impressive. I would be tempted too.  :)

Alternatively, you could order a Humbucker sized Pig90. I had one in my SG for a while and loved it to bits!
