I currently have a Gibson Les Paul 68 reissue custom with a Miracle Man Bridge and Cold Sweat Neck and I'm not satisfied with the cold sweat. Don't get wrong, it's a great pick up, but I prefer the neck pu's in all my other guitars. I have a warpig neck in a jackson sl2h, painkiller neck in a dean cfh, and motor city detroiter neck in an Gibson SG standard. Before the motor city detroiter I loved the cold sweat, but the detroiter was better in every way. It is clearer, sweeter, more fluid (not that the cs wasn't clear, sweet, and fluid), and cleans up better than the cold sweat. So basically I'm looking for a new neck pickup for my les paul that will be a good match with the MM bridge and also for it to be a contrast compared to the neck pu's I already have. So far I'm thinking either an aftermath, holy diver, or nailbomb. What do you guys think?

That's a quite difficult one. I haven't played any of the pickups mentioned but I have used the MiM bridge/CS neck combo briefly in two different guitars. They work well together if you accept that the CS neck has a lot less output. In that respect, Holydiver neck would not be my first choice as it is said to have low output, too. If you don't want the high output of the MiM neck but higher than a vintage style neck pickup then indeed Aftermath or Nailbomb come to mind.
Tim mentioned to me once that the Crawler neck would work well with the MiM bridge but it is low output as well. So it may be the best to contact Tim for ideas.
Cheers Stephan

I agree that MM and CS work well together, it's just that I feel I can get a neck pickup that works even better since I prefer the neck pickups in my other guitars. I don't mind that CS neck has less output than the MM, but maybe if I had a neck pu that's even lower output paired with the MM it would bother me. Also, I don't care that the MM neck is high output and supposedly louder than the bridge. I just didn't mention it because I heard it is very similar to the Warpig neck, which I already have in another guitar.

Anyone else? So far I still have it narrowed down to the nail bomb, holy diver, and aftermath.
