Post by: Draven999 on November 11, 2011, 03:32:26 PM
Hi all,

i've a B.C. Rich ST-3 (Super strat) made in USA from 80's. Now it has a sound like Van Halen, Satriani, 80's hard rock/ heavy metal /shred. I would a sound like Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God et similia, modern metal! Which BK PU can i choose? I've HSS configuration...Body: Basswood

Miracle Man or when you want a bit more mids, C-Bomb.

I would definitely lean toward the C-Bomb in a basswood guitar. Very good wood/pickup combo, and it will nail everything modern metal.

Is your guitar really basswood
the USA ST3s were alder - (I used to own a few of them) although the far eastern ones were probably poplar or basswood

I have found that a pickup with a double screw coil tends to sound good in basswood as it fills out the bottom end which is often missing.
That would point you in Aftermath, warpig or C-pig territory, although the Miracle Man does also sound v good in that guitar
