Ok guys, I had a cold sweat bridge installed into my PRS SE Tremonti and just wanted to add a quick review.
The guitar is a mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard. In my other guitar (PRS SE CUstom24) I have a c-bomb calibrated set. I play mostly metal through a mesa single rec and marshall 1960a cab.
Output:I was worried about the pickup being a bit lower output when compared to the c-bomb and also I had concerns about its brightness. These were instantly blown away from the moment i tried it. It feels similar output to the cbomb and maybe even higher simply because of its eq voicing - yes its brighter than the cbomb but its not overbearing in any way. A thing worth mentioning is that the high outputs bkp pups ive tried are actually medium to high output when compared to other manufacturers-just bear that in mind.
Sounds:I think it works a treat in a mahogany guitar like mine, it feels crunchy and with a good amount of oomph-but has also a very good open and articulate quality, it opens up your guitar sound, again this has to do with the treble response it has. Another thing to mention is that it doesnt have the compression that the cbomb seems to have. This means it comes across with more clarity and a really juicy sound.
Tightness:I actually find it to be tighter than the cbomb, the bottom chug feels very responsive and percussive which I love-this actually surprised me as I wasnt expecting it to be tighter than the cbomb(not that its the tighest pup in the world anyways)
Cleans: Works great on cleans like all bkp pups do in my opinion. Good clarity and balance.
So to sum up id recommend this pickup to any player who wants to open their guitar sound up without losing tightness. It does metal with ease so dont worry, I play in E and drop D so cant comment on anything else but i find it to be very versatile within metal: Opeth, Metallica, Death, Alterbridge, Black Dahlia Murder,etc. It has great clarity and a terrific crunch. I currently prefer it to the c-bomb but both offer you great and different sonic options. If you want a darker sounding pup with a tad of compression go with the cbomb - if you want a more open sounding pup with a tad more clarity go with the coldsweat.

The more I read about these, the more I think I should have gotten them for my Les Paul rather than A-Bombs.

Yeah it seems as if it does really great-i only have the cs bridge though, in future wil also aim to get a CS neck-but im more of a bridge man so thats why i went for that first

Sorry for offtop, but this thread seems appropriate for my question.
Would CS be a good match for mahogany body, maple bolt-on neck, maple fingerboard guitar? Won't it sound too bright/harsh? How's the clean(parallel) sounds in CS?

It seems that mahogany body guitars suit the CS well, i dont know how the bolt-on aspect would affect it, i guess it would make the guitar not as dark sounding- so the CS high end would come through a bit more but i think the mahogany would stop it from being overbearing. Thats my opinion anyways, i think its a superb pickup-but if you go for it i would recommend you get a BKP pot and capacitor also, they allow the pup to play to its potential.
The clean sounds are great, i dont have the neck version though, but i imagine it would be very good (if the reviews of the neck version are anything to go by)

For now it has the stock 500T/496R Gibson set. I like how it sounds, but I would prefer covered pickups for the look :oops:
Now if only I could sell off some of my stuff to get some cash together...

Hey Sancho, I'm picking up my Gibson 1986 explorer tomorrow with the same set of stock pickups as yours. Do you think I'll be disappointed with them? When I tried it out in the shop I thought I might swap 'em out for some BKP's. I was thinking Miracle Man bridge and Cold Sweat neck.

I don't think you'll be disappointed by them. They don't work in all guitars (I think they're nasty in a Les Paul) but for the they are a very good match for the Explorer. My best sounding guitar may well be one of my Explorers, with the stock pickups.
I asked Tim about putting a MM in an Explorer and he advised against it and recommended the CS.
