I was wondering how the actual height of the saddles in ABR bridges affect the tone. Not the whole bridge but the height of the saddles.
This is what I mean, normal height on the left, low height on the right... excuse the poor quality "paint" diagram.

I don't know if it would make any difference.
I've often heard the idea that you shouldn't let the strings touch the back of the bridge on the way to the tailpiece (which only really happens with the E strings). And of course the usual discussion about the angle of the strings between bridge and tailpiece. But nothing about actual saddle height.
Personally I think slightly taller saddles are probably not a bad thing - it avoids the touching-the-bridge issue I've mentioned, and it lets the bridge itself sit a little lower, which I prefer.

There may be a slight difference with more mass, but it's got to be pretty small I would think?

Just a wild guess, but I doubt 5F6-A will be buying one of those... :P
