Title: Download Festival 2012
Post by: MrBump on November 18, 2011, 01:21:45 PM
So, looks like Sabbath are headlining next year, along with Metallica and The Prodegy.

Anyone going?  I feel I'm a little old for festivals, but if it's the only chance I'll get to see Sabbath I might have to...

I'm definitely too old for festivals.

can it be watched on youtube. much better sound quality, you can make tea when it suits you, or take a pee and if the
band is cr@p you search for another. err maybe i'm too old to.

I almost certainly attend festivals with mates older than you chaps. If you are particularly keen to catch Sabbath, you can always just get a day ticket.

I'm hoping to be on a dig in Jerusalem next summer, if that pans out I'll probably not get to any festivals, but hopefully I'll be at Hellfest where Sabbath are also playing.

That said, Ozzy is an embarrassment live now, and I know how depressing it has the potential to be...

They're hardier souls than me.  Even in 1980, I wasn't too keen on the mud, horrifically insanitary toilets and inedible food.

I dare say the toilets and food have improved now, but my tolerance levels haven't.

Philly, I love ya mate but sometimes you can really tell that you were destined to be an accountant.  PDT_019

the only thing i care about with download is the fact its the first time some metallica songs from the black album will be played live.

And the entire album is being played back to back.

I will probably go for that only

$%&# right off!  :P

(No, you're probably right.... but I'm not sure I was destined to be anything really.  Not anything I'm any good at, anyway.)

It's been many years since my last festival visit (1994 I think). Quite a lot of the people I used to go with still go. I'd rather just stay at home, save the money, keep warm and not have to deal with sweaty oiks "moshing" to an extent that their hair whips into may face.

Me and my mates are thinking of going next year. Hoping the lineup stays good and those aren't the only three bands worth seeing! Not sure whether I'll do the whole weekend or just a day, depends what bands are playing.
