Hi Guys.
I am just about to mail JL with an order/specs for a Feline Tabby Hybrid.
Kind of Tele shape with Strat electrics.
I am looking at an Ash body with B/eye Maple neck and board, Hard tail strings through, etc.
Obviously I am going to be talking with Jonathon re all final specs, but I would value your opinions on
a BKP PUPs setup.
At the moment I am torn between an Irish Tour set, OR a Boss in the bridge
with Mothers Milk in middle and neck.
The guitar will be used primarily for blues and blues rock, through an Orange Terror amp
with 2 X 12 OB orange cab.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated :)

I have MM's and IT's in ash and swampash-HSS-strats. The IT's are fuller and grittier then the MM's. They sound leaner, woodier and have this early sixties vibe. The IT's can sound a bit like the MM's when you turn the vol.knob on the guitar a bit down. They sparkle more that way. I like both, but I think the IT's are more versatile. When it was up to me I would pair a BG50 10k bridge with two IT's. That would make it a real versatile guitar imho.

Funnily enough we have made two Tabby Hybrids so far
the first was swamp ash and had a set of IT in it - this is the one that got reviewed
That sounded fine - tones were tough and gritty - good for SRV (or Rory) type blues
The second (recent) one has has a Boss Bridge and a pair of MM in it
Apart from finding via Elliot that the Boss does a fab "surf tone" it works really well in a rock and blues vibe
I love the Boss pickup - it's one of my faves and the MM in an alder body is an unmistakable classic
It'll do Hendrix - it's wiry but not too wiry - still plenty of woodniness in there

Thanks for your thoughts guys.
I think I might try the Blackguard 50 in the bridge with a pair of ITs centre and neck.
Thanks Telerocker !!
And on a completely frivolous 'non Tone' note ; I think the ITs will 'sit' nicely with the
translucent Emerald Green finish of the swampash !!! 8)

holy cack i hadn't seen that trans black one before. that's awesome :D

Looks awesome indeed. I like the cream one a bit better. I'm becoming so conservative. :|

That is a great shape. I reckon it would also look good with a TV yellow finish with 2 P90's.
