and it's located at a shop that is a 20 minute drive from your place!
I quite like the look of it although think that Fenders look better in blue. Actually, what is the difference between Lake Placid Blue and Pelham Blue?
EDIT - just clicked on the link and am almost tempted by that price. If only my boiler hadn't gone t!ts up last week.
-
It's a Junior, so I like it! And I like the colour too. :D
But.....
Slim taper neck. :(
And I'm still very dubious about that "obeche" fingerboard. It's not obeche - or not obeche asI know it - so what the hell is it? I suppose ultimately it doesn't really matter.
I'd be interested to know what you think if you try it out, Dave.
-
i've seen these too, and thought "hmm, nice..." there's also a special in the same colour with two humbuckers. i think i'd prefer two P90's though
-
That colour is very nice. I'd prefer a special with two pickups, but this guitar oozes rock.
-
Can you buy a TV yellow one with a bigger neck instead?
I'd be more likely to go for one of them in Seconds Out

Cruel.
Anyway, the bigger neck one only comes in sunburst, cherry and white....
-
That is a lovely colour Dave- go on you know you want it.
-
Lovely colour although I prefer it on an SG.
-
Go for it Dave! I've always been on the look out for a second hand LP Junior
-
Cheeky buggers the lot of you!
I might have to check one out just to how shoddily built they are for that price...
-
Just needs a big fat tree trunk neck and it would be a great guitar. Slim taper....? yuck!
-
Oh not again!!!
-
Ian - last time I looked Guitar Village was 20 mins from YOUR place not Dave's!!
:-)

ahahahahahahahahahahaha
but yeah that blue is quite nice. I'd prefer tv yellow or cherry, but that blue is very nice too. If I had several of them i could see having one in the blue.

It's 20 mins from where I am right now, and every week day ;)

I wish it wasn't blue. I have enough Juniors already, but the colour is giving me GAS. Good job there's that slim taper neck to put me off....
-
-
Looks awesome in that colour :)
-
Dave, you're a bad man - I absolutely LOVE that Pelham Blue colour. I'm gonna have to buy one of these now :D
After the new year I'll treat myself, I love LP juniors anyway so it's not much of a stretch for me.
-
Sorry Ian
Like Phil, I can resist unless they get one with a fat neck...
-
Dave - don't tell me that you have moved South???? Surely not?
-

I might pop down to GV in the next few weeks if you fancy it Dave?
Will PM you with some dates.
-
Sounds like a plan mate, I'd love to check the shop out :)
-
Have you got written permission to go to guitar shops while you're away working during the week? Or is Mrs TF watching the forum to monitor possible GAS-attacks?
And Ian, does your missus know you're planning on going to a guitar shop with a known serial-buyer?

EDIT: Especially somewhere like Guitar Village! I once wondered about doing a trip down with someone, window-shopping, nice day out... but I realised there was NO WAY that he and I would walk away without at least one of us buying a guitar
-
Mrs TF is well aware of my buying habits, she had a big hand in the PRS Private Stock helping me choose the colour and maple top.
She's pretty bad for encouraging guitar buying to be honest....
-
GV is about 50 minutes from me too. I have spend many a happy our in there and I bought one of my Strats there...and you'd be pleased to know that it was an impulse buy and I used it at a gig that night.

Nice one - Jane has approved a visit there for me. Unfortunately not a spend though :(
-
its a good job they don't do these juniors in Cardinal Red or I'd be looking at TWO new guitars, ha ha

This is sounding dangerous!
Just don't buy anything I had my eye on! :?
-
Very dangerous for me at the moment- I have some spending money ( but I have a possible new guitar lined up so maybe I will be OK).

This sounds like a new thread. Are you revealing what it might be?
-
No Ian, I don't want to tempt fate.If it comes together though it will be something that I have hankered after for a long while. There are a few obstacles in the way.

I was just about to say that if it was me I wouldn't want to tempt fate!
Hope it works out for you!

I have the same "problem"
Mrs R has helped encourage nearly all of my purchases. She won't be doing it for a year or so though - we're in the middle of a house purchase. If and when it goes through we'll need furniture pdq (we rent at the moment), and I'm discovering now that she seems to have expensive tastes... eg she wants a bed that costs more than my 335!! (it's quite a cute bed, though).
Not to mention other crazy sh1t I'm hearing like "I really do want to rip that floor up and redo it..." It's a floor! It works as advertised! ... why spend valuable guitar money on replacing it! (ok, yeah, it does look a bit "not to our taste" at the moment, but still...)
No, I dare not go near a guitar shop for the foreseeable future... it will only cause avoidable pain (either mental pain from the unfulfilled GAS, or actual pain if I accidentally spent the house deposit or some other similarly earmarked funds ).
Still, I am feeling vaguely jealous of the idea of a group of like-minded chaps having a nice manly day out at Guitar Village - good luck :D
-
:D
I don't think it will be a day out, more of a stolen hour on a weekday evening!
Any others local to the shop should come along - just trying to sort out a date at the moment but likely to be Tuesday or Wednesday next week around 16:30.
