So my Gibson 1968 explorer arrived today! I'm absolutely in love with it. I am however going to change out the pickups (At least I think I am). I'm pretty much decided on a Miracle Man bridge and a Cold Sweat neck. However, the choice of covers is too much for me! Open poles bore me! I'm thinking burnt chrome but not sure it will match the guitar... Maybe Tyger? HELP! :D

Thanks Telerocker! Bought it as a birthday present to myself.
I'm thinking Tyger covers too. It's gonna be a heavy metal guitar so I'm after something pretty brutal looking.
Might even go for black battle worn!
Either way, I'll post some better pics when I get the pups installed :)

I play mainly strats and tele's, but when it has to be a Gibson it will be a Les Paul or an (korina) Explorer. Love that shape. Blackbattleworn would be a good option too, but the Tygers would look ferocious on an Explorer.

Yeah looks like I'm going for the Tygers. I actually really like the neck pickup but want to swap out the bridge for a miracle man. Any idea if I can get Tyger covers on the gibson pickup instead of buying a new neck pickup?
