Title: I need help with my Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II
Post by: realbluehead on December 02, 2011, 07:02:04 PM
Hi! I've been always playing with ibanez and dimarzios and now I've adquired an Epi JP. second hand.
I like the feel of the neck and I'm very pleased with the guitar for the $300 I paid but I would like to improve its sound with a new pair of pickups. Lots of sites recommend BK pickups but I don't know wich model could give me that jazzy, old tone.
Any suggestions?!!?

Thank you!!!!

Welcome here!
Have a look at the hb-sizes Manhattan P90's. They provide jazzy tones in spades.

Another option would be the Stormy Mondays.

Agree, but for mainly jazz a calibrated Manhattan-set would be my fav.
Versatile woud be a Stormy in the bridge and Manhattan-neck.

Just wanted to mention the obvious alternative ;) And yes, a neck P90 is just wonderful for warm clean tones.
