All I can say is : WOW!
It was fitted to a Warmoth based Frankenstrat copy. Quite distant from the strings.
Plenty of harmonics, loads of sparkle and clarity and enough body to keep things interesting.
Come next year, I'm ordering a set to replace the stock JB/59 in a Charvel!

I guess it was a bridge model, right?
I am also considering adding a bridge VHII to my neck model.
Cheers Stephan

Hey neighbour, I had the same experience with the VHII in my Fender Am. Series ashstrat. It's totally wicked for all kind of rockstyles. I like the way this puppie screams.

I have a VHII and a lot of Warmoth Frankenstrat parts..... I guess I should be doing something with them, eh? :?

Next year. 2012. I'm not going to buy and sell loads of guitars, I'm going to sort out the ones I've already got, one at a time.

Yep. The pickup was too far away from the strings for my liking, and it still delivered. Come next year, this baby will get the VHII treatment. Now, to choose between zebra or black...

I would love to try out the VHII. I have shyed away from it for a long time as EVH ain't my cup of tea, but the description of the pup at this forum have awaken my curiosity.

I'm no fan of EVH either, but that doesn't put me off the VHII at all. It seems to just be a very open-sounding, slightly hotter than vintage PAF type - what's not to like? :)
My problem is my usual one - being too lazy/busy/preoccupied to get round to installing it!

go on phil, make a superstrat
sweet yellow charvel sancho :)

Nice colour on the Charvel. I would keep them black, but zebra would not be out of tune.
As for EVH, I never thought about him when I went for the VHII. I was just looking for something different then the Crawler in my other strat.

baah.. I don't have enough posts to post into the second out section. I have VHII neck, open coils, black for sale, it will be shipped in original package with all accessories, the only reason why I'm selling it is that I got a new one, with tyger cover :) if there is somebody interested, please hit me with PM 8)
anyway, I couldn't make a better decision when I took my VHII for the neck position, thanks to Nolly for recommendation

I'll be making at least one HSS Strat, Dave, does that count? No Floyds or locking nuts, but it will have a tremolo - a Gotoh one like Suhr use.

yeah i guess
