Hey guys looking to switch out the duncans that came stock with my ESP horizon NT-II cause they sound fairly soulless compared to my bare knuckle loaded guitars.
I'm really into my melodic death metal and progressive melodic metal bands as well as old school stuff like exodus and testament. The guitar is tuned to full D with 11-52 gauge strings. I need something hot enough to cut through the mix for solos but also great for triplet/chugging rhythms. I'm not a fan of the compressed "djent" sound which im currently getting from the duncans.
Was the most interested in the Warpig for the bridge ( fascinated by the absurd output and how much power it can generate), and anyones experience with my kind of guitar with these pickups in both ALnico and ceramic options. Also considering a cold sweat for the bridge for cleans and sweeping. Or if i should be looking at a different pickups altogether I'm all ears.

cold sweat or c-bomb for exodus and early testament
miracle man will work too, specially for the melodic death/prog and newer testament

had painkillers, nice, but I am a Ceramic warpig man to the bone. Huge bottom tight punchy bottom crisp clean and articulate withouth being overyharsh. I have no problem getting anything from Black Metal, 80's thrash, Death Metal or doom tones. The perfect pickup in my book, they clean up well too when you roll off the volume a tad.

I have a c-pig in my 7 string. It's the same construction and woods as your ESP but mines Korean made BC Rich V so much cheaper.
It's mighty in output, huge bottom end yet clean. I use an eq to boost mid's. I just play at home and I scoop my mid's but not with the c-pig. I find I'm rolling back the bass and gain as it has bucket loads of that to offer but boost on the mid's seem's to really make it shine. I struggled to find something that works for me but now I have and it's great. I find it great for playing 1990's Fear Factory and Entombed. I bought some blackouts to replace it but once I found something that works the blackouts sit in a cupboard.
I've really learnt less is more thanks to advice here from the forums. :)
