Post by: horsehead on December 20, 2011, 12:04:56 PM
Pete Thorn has just uploaded his new video, really good comparison & actually makes me want some of the paper coil speakers!

Scumbacks are great, pity they're so expensive to import into the UK.

Its worth mentioning Tayden for anyone in the UK - those guys are on a similar ride, really great speakers.

I bought a pair of barely used H75's for really cheap (I think it was US$160 for two speakers)

they sound edgier and punchier than the mesa v30's I replaced in a marshall 1960 cab, but the v30's are definitely much louder and more present (still very nasal)
compared to reissue G12H30's, they actually sound very close, but middier and they also have a rounder top end

I wouldn't pay the price of a new piece, but they are better than actual celestions...

maybe for the M75... damn... that thing sounds good  :(
