Just seen this on the GV website......
...and I'm liking it. Rather a lot.
£3999 though. I won't be buying it any time soon!
-
Hey someone treated that badly  but nice
-
You really should stop cruising their site mate!
-
Tell me about it! It's doing my head in!
-
You could settle for this - I am sure there is not much difference after a good set up

Yeah, that second one isn't bashed up either!
-
Looks good, but I prefer the pink Strat used by Gary Moore, it's actually red, but a pinkish red...
-
At nearly four grand you'll be able to purchase the paper bag to put over your head and hide your identity first - for shame, for shame, pink guitars - and a Strat too, jeez
If it was a pink Vee you'd almost have got away with it, heh heh.

?

Hey! Don't knock it!
I have a 54 Reissue Jap Strat in Shell Pink...
-
I like the Strat but I'm not crazy about the colour, never been a fan of Shell Pink.
(Love the Hello Kitty Squier, though!)
-
I would rather fancy some battleworn daphne blue or faded fiesta red, but I must admit that a reliced pink strat looks better then a non reliced.

I've have one of those, not keen on the guitar like
-
I really dig that pink strat. The relicing make it looks superb!
-
It's strange, for years and years I wanted a pink strat. Not anymore apparently...
I keep coming into this thread to see if I can rekindle the old feelings, but, no, nothing...

Are you gay or something? Nothing says "I'm a man" more than a pink strat.
-
That Strat does look damn good. I'd prefer it in Sonic Blue though. Not a good idea to go to GV for me at the moment - best not tempt fate- bearing in mind the "Taylor incident".

I'm hoping it's more that I don't seem to be suffering any GAS at all at the moment. Once we've moved into the new place, and the "space for guitars" issue becomes a non-issue, then maybe I might be back to my old self...
Not sure the "pink strat" thing will ever come back though (and I absolutely longed for one when I was younger), I think I'm more likely to go the 38th route (sonic blue). However, rather than more strats, I suspect that another bass (a Jazz) is likely to cause the first stirrings - not sure I'd go for shell-pink on a bass!
Have to admit though, I'm with various others - everytime you post one of these threads, I feel your pain, but I think you're just needlessly torturing yourself by looking these things up!
-
I'm a big shell pink fan (I have 2 basses and a Strat in it). I think that looks great, but I am building one like it in Burgandy Mist. I'll put some pictures up when I finally get chance to work on it (the builders have taken over the house at the moment).

I know I should stop looking but I just can't help it! A recent visit to Guitar Village with Dave and a subsequent (and very long) few frames of snooker didn't exactly help! I don't think I'll ever stop looking.

I'm very interested in how that progresses Phil. Your name came up a few times in the 'snooker' event mentioned above - Dave and I were chatting about strats and that I'd owned a few across different price points but nver found one that I really connected with. This is when the discussion went from CS Strats to Bravewood/custom made. I'm reasonably specific about the spec that I would like (lightweight alder body, all maple neck, 9.5 radius, 6105s, bone nut, hardtail, vintage saddles, vintage tuners and either in distressed LPB or Shell Pink). I can find various combinations of these through the custom shop but hardly ever all in one package - it's the hardtail that limits the choice for me. Perhaps Bravewood/custom will be the way to go in a few years when I have (hopefully) a bit more spare cash.
The Baja is absolutely great for me at the moment and I have no plans to cnage it at all. Perhaps I'm more of a tele fan now. I do think that Shell Pink doesn't look right on a tele though.
-
I'm going to be ordering a hardtail Bravewood late 50's v-neck strat soon. I'm probably going to get it in sonic blue or black (still thinking it out). It depends what you are after, but the Bravewoods feel like an old guitar when you pick them up and you can order what you like (within reason!).
-
Perhaps Bravewood is the way to go for me then - I'm not outlandish in what I would be looking for and generally prefer the vintage look and feel apart from radius and frets. You've also just reminded me that I'd want a V neck as well!
As for your colour choice I would go for Sonic Blue - only because I don't really like Black strats though!
-
I went to Guitar village today and saw the Pink Strat "in the flesh" (albeit hanging up, well out of my reach! ).
Very nice, but hard to see why it's nearly twice the price of many of the other fine CS models they've got.
-
I'm assuming it's because it is masterbuilt rather than team built? Also it's probably because they can charge whatever they want (within reason) safe in the knowledge that there will be a market as it is a real Fender.
If I'd known you were going today I would have popped over to say hello (and show you how to not play a guitar in a guitar shop!)

Oh, I managed that part quite nicely myself!
It was fairly spur of the moment, although I had been planning to go sometime soon. Just wanted "something" to do today since it's back to work tomorrow.... :(

Damn, someone beat me to the Hello Kitty gag!
