Anybody used one of these before? Or anyone had experience with any of the other AMT Electronics pedal amps? I'm considering buying one but there are no dealers in the UK and very few reviews online...

It sounds good in that clip, but I have a hard time believing that a little solid state pedal amp can really emulate a 5150 :?

tried the B1 through a bogner alchemist
it was way too gainy to sound like a real tube amp
also too bassy and too trebly
I had to crank the mids and use everything else at very low settings to make it sound anywhere near the amp
but my bandmate used to make some fet preamp pedals that sounded pretty good
I've posted some clips of his 5150 pedal here long ago

Thanks Eric - That pedal your bandmate built sounds great too. I did guess that solid state pedals could not sound as good as real tubes, but I'm trying to get a ball-park 5150 sound without shelling out £500+ on a used 5150 combo (cheapest I've seen so far on ebay).
I wonder whether anyone has made similar pedals with real tubes in them (if that's even possible)? I guess they'd be a lot more expensive - cannot find anything like this through google :(
Oh well, I guess it is back to saving...

I'm use AMT S1 (emulates Soldano SLO). It's just great!

I really, really want to try these things sometime. The clips I've heard so far sound amazing!

Right, I've succumbed to temptation and ordered one from the states. I figure if I don't like it I could always recoup a bit of the cash by selling it on as there don't seem to be many around...
