Hi guys.. I´m still not sure about CS in my custom build R8 LP...I think she´s made for something with more vintage feel with lower output definitely alnico mag...I have chance to change CS for VHII with local guy so my question is what should I expect from VHII in heavy mahogany guitar where freq´s are prominent more on lows and lower mids..Does VHII handle hi gain and lower (drop C#) tunnigs?I use now 5150II and I use both channels rhythm nearly dimed for some hard rock/hc punk sounds Lead for metal and other brutal stuff...Thank you

I can only comment on the VHII in my ash strat. It's balanced in there: enough bass, good mids, clear top end but not shrill. The tones and (pinched) harmonics are amazing. It's a touchsensitive and articulate pickup. I think it will do great in a Les Paul too. For me the VHII is tight enough and it's not overly bassy, so should work well in a Les Paul, but I don't play detuned. Maybe ask BKP about the VHII for your styles. It's not reckoned to be a metal pickup, more a rockpickup, but I'm sure it can do metal too.

Thanks for imput mate..I think I should go for it but you know sometimes everyone needs blessing...I found out that Tim sometimes recomend VHII for lower tuning but also for baritone and 7 even for 8 string guitars to get better detail and clarity when hi gain pickups get mudy...Can somebody compare VHII to gibson C57,BB pickups?
Cheers
