Title: Neck pup lost output on fender thinline tele
Post by: Shag101 on December 30, 2011, 02:22:40 PM
hey all,

My father in-laws neck pickup (dual HB's) went to cr@p today.  he said he adjusted one of the pole screws and now there is no more output.  if i touch the screw tips i get a slight pop, but i get nothing when i touch the pup cover itself.

did it just cr@p out, or am i missing something.

oh, its the stock pups.. :(

thanks

Sadly yes, that kind of resistance is effectively open circuit for a pickup.

Bad luck. I had the same problem with the neck pickup on my old SG - Tim did a great job rewinding it - sounds like new .. or should I say old, as it's a 1963 Patent Number HB.

yeah, i tried talking my father in law into a set of bkp's, but he read online about the pickups from http://www.at-the-creamery.co.uk/

they have a model specially made for the thinline.  order has been placed...
