Paypal orders destruction of violin.
Disgusting if true.

Wouldn't it be logical that the buyer would take the violin to someone who knows a bit more about violins and get some sort of confirmation before taking the hammer to it?

Not even Jeremy Clarkson would be that stupid.

I'm thinking hoax.

I hope so, but Jeremy Clarkson doesn't even compare to some of the lunatics you find online. If he had any sense he'd destroy a 100 quid violin and send pay pal pictures of that.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Their policies are absolutely ludicrous at times. Have any of you ever had to call them on the phone? It'll make you homicidal. Personally, I'm on the (supposedly) last stretch of getting my new checking account verified as I closed the original one associated with my Paypal some time last year. It's been a month. A MONTH!! I guess that's what I get for using an online checking account, but still... I'm able to add and subtract funds via the routing number, but Paypal can't without hard copy documents?

I refuse to set up a Paypal account. Too many weird stories...
If someone will only accept Paypal, he doesn't want my business badly enough.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Used to use ebay/paypal a lot. But they've become increasingly evil and some of their rules are so badly stacked against sellers it's untrue. I only use them as a last resort now.

Me too - we've got a shed load of baby stuff to sell and the only place we'll get a reasonable price that I am aware of is eBay. The only slight comfort is that it is baby stuff and normally bought by reputable people.
