Hey guys!
So, I have a prs singlecut (not the trem model), i think it`s a 2000 or 2001 model. I`m not really happy with stock pickups (#7), the bridge is a little thin and underpower, the neck is ok, but somtimes can be a little muddy. I was thinkin about put a set of mules. Do you guys think this set will work well in my guitar? the prs singlecut have a mahogany body and neck, with a maple top. Anyone have experience with another bare knuckle set on a singlecut?
Thanks!
Ps: Sorry for the bad english =/

hey man, I had already seen your review, but i think the nailbomb is more than a I really need. Tell more about the Vh Ii in the neck position... You think the black dog is a good choise for the bridge?
Thanks =)

Never played a Black Dog - that was Eric's suggestion. If you just want a bit more power than the stock PRS #7 then the Black Dog would do that. I doubt that the Mules would have more power than the #7s - more clarity for sure but about the same power.
The VHII is very articulate and clear in that guitar, and this was a problem guitar for the neck pickup spot. Most pickups I had in there were simply too muddy. The VHII outperformed them all. I haven't tried other BKPs in that guitar though.
I have another suggestion for you - take a look at the Abraxas set.

Tim said that the abraxas is a good choice for the bridge position, I had previously thought about a abraxas/vH Ii set.... I gonna try find more information about the abraxas!!

Send a PM to forum member HTH as he finds the Abraxas, if not the best BKP, then one of the best.

I have an Abraxas set in a 2002 PRS Singlecut with the hardtail bridge and they work really well in it. A lot more drive and tone than the stock pickups.

Thanks for your reply! You think the abraxas set is versatile, you get good cleans and dirty sound with it?
Thanks
-
Yes, they are really versatile pickups with excellent cleans. They have Alnico IV magnets, which gives them a more musical clean tone, it is a very sweet tone which is great for blues and ballads. I tired a set of crawlers in it first, but didn't like them (I have both Crawlers and Abraxas in other guitars so I know the sound they produce). I'm sure you will like them.

Great man! You made my mind about the abraxas =) Just only one more question (i promisse its gonna the last one LOL), what the space in the singlecut bridge pickup, normal or f-spaced?
Thanks so much for the help!

Mine are standard spacing. I have the adjustable bridge on mine, but I have a 1993 Artist II with the wrap around bridge and I have standard spaced Mules on that, and they are fine.

Anyone have the black dog in the singlecut bridge?
