welcome, brother :D
nice comparison
lowering the pickups just a littlet further from the strings helps reducing the boomy bass
this should be on Players forum, though

Welcome lasse :)
Already heard it though (DVaz on HC).

It's 5mm now between the string and pole pieces, how much would you recommend?
-
the golden position for me is 4 mm. What you need to do is to alter your EQ :) its a bit too much in the EMG's favour :)

I generally have my aftermath set around 4-5mm.
I cant wait to hear more clips from you with the Aftermath.
I love all of your amp demos.

whatever sounds best for your guitar and ears
just a small adjust would be noticeable
getting it closer makes it bassier and more saturated
I liked the aftermath, nailbomb at "medium" height
the holy diver and black dog sounded better for me very close, though

Thanks.
I've just found the perfect match for the Aftermath I think...JVM410 OD2 Orange!
I'm not using the JVM that often, cause although it's a kickarse amp I always thought the upper mids are a bit too pronounced and the lowend too anemic for modern styles...with EMG. But the JVM just loves the Aftermaths!
I'm not really digging them through recto etc that much though..I guess the Marshall style amps are just a perfect match for BKP
