I have an opportunity to get a Valvetrain Tall boy for 675 maybe less and originally had my eye on a 90's Fender Blues Deluxe for around 450-500. I'll just be using as a house amp no gigging. I have a 74 strat that was routed to HSS and its has mothers milk and a mule in it and play almost entirely fingerstyle everything from blues to pink floyd arrangements.
Just seeing what the general consensus was.

I never played the Valvetrain but from the specs and soundclips, and for home exclusively, that's what I'd choose. The Blues Deluxe is way too loud for home, even on small/mid-sized venues you'll have hard time pushing it, and it's more of a good budget/touring amp - sounds good but not stellar.
My 2 cents...

I've got no experience of the Valvetrain but can say that a BLues Deluxe will indeed be way way way too loud for home. All the Fender amps in that range that I have played (Blues Deluxe, Hot Rod Deville and even a Blues Jr) have been very loud indeed. I played a gig with the Deville (212, not 410) and couldn't get it past 5 or 6 without it being too loud.

Any recommendations that would fit my needs? Similar mostly to the valvetrain...
