I believe the 'Blackhawk' pickup is to be released this year.
-
I'd like to know about that as well.
People here seems to be very careful mensioning about the new product.
But isn't it about time to spill info of blackhawk?
-
You can actually hear a bit of the blackhawk pickup on RedSeasFire youtube video of their current rig
-
Is this what the blackhawk will look like? (4 blades, high output...)

pretty much all the info that is known has been spilled. Theres been videos showing the pickup, soundclips and even a tonal description.
There is a thread somewhere on this forum regarding it.

No - may look a bit similar but is two coils not 4!
4 blades - hence blackhawk (like helicopter)
Output is not as high gain as some might have expected as far as i know
Hopefully more will be revealed soon 8)

Blackhawk at 5:40 mins in
I like it best out of all Nolly's guitar sounds
Think it will do some good hair metal sounds too!
-
wow i hadnt heard that clip before. I suprised how hair metal the tone is

So each coil is wrapped round a pair of blades, presumably with some sort of spacer between them?
Which begs the question why two blades rather than one, I imagine to "spread" the magnetic field in a certain way?
-
SOUnds interesting
when will it be released or etc??

I thought the brown B2 sounded nicer though... clearer and a nice character. What pickup does that one have?
EDIT: Found it, it's a Nailbomb.

Yeah the B2 with the Nailbombs sound absolutely sweet!

That Blackhawk does sound cool, very 80s hair metal 8)
Thought Tim said they wouldn't do any 'blade' pickups ??? :?

Thought Tim said they wouldn't do any 'blade' pickups ??? :?
They certainly have never had any intention of making any Joe Barden/DiMarzio Fast Track/Duncan Hot Rails style single-coil-sized humbuckers.
I guess using blades as polepieces in a humbucker is sort of ethically different.

hmmm, splitting hairs me-thinks, Tim you are a little tinker

Yh I heard Tim always said he hated Humcancelling singlecoils. I know Dimarzio's either are stacked where they use Alnico magnets or bladed which are Ceramic. It would be really cool if Tim did a twinbladed single coil like the Cruisers though. I really like that pickup. With Tim's magic, I can't begin to imagine how good they'd sound :)

ah!!! can't wait until it finally reveals. more info on this pup please!!!!

It has been said the Blackhawk could part the red sea, cures leprosy, changes diapers, and runs a no-kill animal shelter.
