hey guys my pikcups are due in this week and i have a quick question. I purchased two humbuckers in the 4 con option. I also purchased three pots v/v/t at 550k. i also purchased the .202 capasitor from bkp. my question is...should i use the emg wiring or will it be easier just to buy new wiring. I know their are a few wires that are in the emg wiring kit that dont belong in my install. If anyone has done this let me know what i need to do. for now im setting it up as normal les paul switching b/m/n off a three way toggle switch. I picked the 4 con so i could do something different in the future if i felt like it. thanks!

For the sake of a mono jack and a bit of wire I'd just pull the lot and start over. Then you've got a full EMG set and loom to sell on ebay. They always go easier that way.

+1. Sound advice (no pun intended).

so i have the three pots, the capacitor, and the pikcups. will i need additional wiring to hook everything up? if so what kind? I know their are some connections between pots that seem to be wires that dont branch off of the pickups. Alos will i need a wire to go to the 3 way switch? Will a basic wiring kit work from stewmac or am i better off going to radioshack?

Ok how do you want it to work? Master vol or two seperate vols?
I'm assuming 2 separate:

In which case do the above. Though bear in mind that bkp pups will have different colour codes. You'll get instructions that show you what. Assuming you're not coil splitting. For a 4 wire jobbie, two go together, the neg will go with the shield wire to the back of a pot (as will everything you're grounding) and you'll have a hot line. If you've gone for 2 conductor it's even easier, braided cable to ground, line in the centre is hot.
Your EMG wiring will have a stereo jack to switch the battery on and off. I'd pull this and keep it with the rest of the EMG harness. Stick a mono in and wire it as per the diagram
When you take it all out you'll be left with a wire that dissapears into the guitar. That's the ground for the bridge. As with all the other grounds, take it to the back of a pot.
