Title: Wich pickup for my walnut guitar
Post by: Youne on January 28, 2012, 10:36:10 AM
Hey everyone,

I'm building a 7 string electric guitar with 5 pc US walnut/ wenge (probably set with the body), ebony fretboard and walnut body with a Floyd rose for the bridge. I play on a Diezel einstein combo (with a G12-K100).
I search for the neck, a creamy sound something smooth for clean adn lead tones. I thought about the Cold Sweat.
The bridge PU now. Something warm not too sparkly but slightly compressed with a djent sound. First I thought about the Aftermath but is it possible to get this one with an Alnivo V magnet ? I have a Nailbomb V set on an other homemade guitar, I didn't try them yet 'cause it's still to the doctor  :(
I search a different sound for the new guitar a,d I wonder wich is the best PU for the bridge position.

Any suggestions ?

Not too sure on this one, but if you want Alnico for the bridge you could consider the Nailbomb or Holy Diver. Of the two mentioned I think the Nailbomb will be the "djenties". You could also considder the lower output Emerald. I'm pretty sure forum member Nolly is using the Emerald bridge in one of his 7strings.

Miracle Man works well in Walnut!
