Hi,
Yesterday i got my Les Paul studio faded. Pic: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6996/p1000121m.jpg
I'm planning on putting a Ceramic Nailbomb in the bridge position.
But because the pickups are pretty expensive i'm searching for a cheaper neck pickup.
Dimarzio, SD or something like that.
Which cheaper neck pickups pair well with the C-bomb?
I'm looking for a old-school Heavy Metal/Trash sound(Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, Judas Priest etc.). And some Hard rock a la Scorpions and UFO.
PS it has to be available in zebra :D
Edit: Guitar is full mahogany, and my amp is a JCM900 dr

What neck pickup did it come with ? Is it the 490R ? If so, what don't you like about it ? How much money are you prepared to spend ? Personally, I'd wait, save up, and get another BK - why spoil the ship ? etc...........
-
I got it second hand and it came with Epiphone pickups
i want to know my options because bkp are pretty expensive and i'm a poor student :p

I wanted to order the calibrated Nailbomb set today (now i have to wait with getting my drivers license), but I noticed the only payment method is Creditcard... And I don't have one

Maybe it's a sign that you should really invest in your driver's licence first?

Nah, because I'm a student I have a public transport card. So I can get almost everywhere for free :)
My driver's license isn't necessary at the moment

A DiMarzio Liquifire would do the job-and you can get it in zebra i believe.
-
If you try some BKP dealers, you'll find the pickups are a fair bit cheaper. Whats your limit for the bridge/neck?
-
Well, this weekend i came to the conclusion i'm gonna order the whole nailbomb set.
But I don't have a creditcard :(
We have a BKP dealer here in Holland. So I've send them a mail if they can get the specific set I want.
I'm waiting for an answer...

good luck!

You might consider a NB-bridge and CS-neck. The latter excels in mahogany setneckguitars: it delivers chimey cleans and fluid leads in spades. I read the NB-neck is brighter then the CS.

Yes! My fellow trombone player (I also play trombone :?) had a creditcard and ordered it for me.
Very curious. What are the send-times (don't know the correct english word) for BKP to europe?

Well, BKP (the company) is actually in Europe - if you consider UK as being in Europe ;)
More seriously, there are two points here:
- time for the team to build your pups and post them
- time for the various involved postal service to deliver the goods
For a more practical answer : I don't know where you live, but as far as I'm concerned (living near Bordeaux, France), it takes about 10 to 15 days.

Ok, thanks. I live in Holland. We have a pretty fast mail-people-thing-company. So I hope I will have it within two weeks :D Can't wait to throw out the Epiphone pickups and put the BKPs in.

About the same to Germany.

Whoo! The pickups are in The Netherlands :) I hope I get them tomorrow

Installed the pickups yesterday. I love them. Great pickups!
Made a quick soundclip. I'm not a very good player, or recorder. But I think you will get an impression of the sounds.
Lots of minor mistakes (and a huge one on victim of changes :o)
