Although god knows how he expects it to sell on the basis of that picture and description.
At the time of making it - the spec was:
Swamp ash body - with all access neck joint
Maple neck with rosewood board - fitted with green LEDs on the front (activated by push /pull pot)
Dunlop 6155 frets
Sperzel machineheads
Wilkinson VS100c tremolo
Kinman noiseless pickups

Ebaying at its finest.
That said, I try my best to take good pictures and spend hours writing descriptions, and still I sometimes get lower proceeds than these people who go "nice guitar for sale, sorry photo taken with my phone, lol"..... :|
-
they only seem to be offering collection in person, which would rule me out unfortunately.
-
Looks like a great deal to me! Shame it's not likely to go for much, based on the listing! If it was Alder, then i'd be quite tempted :)
-
bargain!
I don't see the point of selling at such a loss.

I'm not really into the start style, but after viewing the Feline website, I would love to have one of those lions made for my self.
Flat black, no pick guard, no inlays, no binding, all black hardware, ebony fretboard, and a pair of BK's. :drink:

Well, I think I know who has the better quality pictures!

Something like we made years ago - the "none more black" (to quote Spinal Tap)
This was before BKP existed...hence the EMGs
It had an ebony fretboard with BLACK pearl inlays
The knobs even went up to 11!

I don't remember seeing that None More Black one before. Not quite my taste, but there's something very appealing about it. Extremely cool! :)
Whenever I try to imagine specs for a custom guitar, I know what basic construction details I'd want, but I'm torn between:
- My natural inclination to keep things plain and simple.
- The exact opposite - beautiful timbers, fancy binding and inlays... just because I could.
- A slimmed-down, lightweight LP Custom - cool but rather unimaginative. :|
I don't see the point of selling at such a loss.
It could be a simple case of desperately needing the money - present economic climate and all that?
-
That's indeed a bargain. Like the strat, but I already have two (swamp)ashstrats and BKP-loaded!
-
God, that looks nice. Have been having at strat gas for some time now (just tried the Jimmy Vaughan strat...mmhhh tasty neck).
Now if this auction would be in germany and not collecting only (or collecting close to me) I might even spring on this, even thought it still is a looooot of money for me.
-
Thats pretty close to what I was talking about. And that looks awesome as well.
I like simple. I haven't worked my self up to getting a custom guitar built, as I feel it takes allot of consideration, and allot of know exactly what one would want, so that it may last a life time.
But I would get one similar to that feline one up above, or one done in a dark gunstock type finish. I really like the simple rugged look. Makes me feel at peace when I'm playing on one like that.
-
Blimey if it goes for that price, someone will be getting a bargain.
-
I've just had my redundancy money through, so I'm keeping an eye on this!
-
Indeed it seems like a bargain. Somone is going to be a lucky guy or girl. The LED lights are a bit too much for me and I like a less pointy headstock in a strat, but apart from that it looks like a killer guitar.

I'm not into the LEDs either, and I think that kind of headstock would look awesome reversed. It looks like a fine guitar.

Could be a good one
Might need a little set-up and maybe stick some BKPs in there and you'll be good to go
-
Can you remember what the neck shape was, Jon?
I'm not going to gazump anyone, just curious!
-
Just courious how long ago was it that you made this guitar, Johnathan?
Looks very nice :D

Guitar was made about 6-8 years ago
Sold 2005-2006.
Think we had it at the LGS 2005, but not at LGS 2006

I don't really need another Strat, or another guitar for that matter, but after all the cr@p I got put through and the breakdowns my last job caused me I've thought 'sod it, I'm having a guitar '

Spotted another Feline guitar on the bay.

Tum-te-tum, I'm not looking!!!
Jonathan - isn't that the one we were all "looking at"/"thinking about" around the time of the last meet? I don't need, or really want a V, but that one certainly got me thinking... (which is why I deliberately didn't touch it too much, just in case any unfortunate "bonding" occurred!)
-
I was also wondering if this was the one I played at the last BKP meet.
If so, I'm tempted...
-
It is indeed one in the same - I made it for me and it has been at two of the London BKP meets.
Great guitar
Adrian who is selling it is a good chap too ...someone should strike up a deal with him!
-
Just noticed, the Strat went for £510. A nice bargain for someone! :D

And I forgot to bid, bugger

I had to stop from buying it back myself _ I'd rather one of you guys got the deal on it
Hope whoever snapped it up loves it - I may hear from them asking about it at some time .
