Got a Charvel San Dimas in tele style with OFR bridge and JB/'59 humbuckers. Would go with the VHII if didn't already have (and love) in a Charvel strat. Was wondering how a set of covered Mules would sound, with the OFR in a an alder body with maple neck/board? For playing blues/classic rock/hard rock/80s metal, etc. etc. with the emphasis on blues and classic rock....

Riff Raffs look/sound like a good idea.

Considering the timbers and the bolt-on neck, I would take a look at the Abraxas: still PAF-flavour, more mids then the Mule. A great allrounder and certainly good for blues and rock.

Another vote for the Abraxas set.

Checked out the Abraxas, nice sounding pup and would probably work.
However, I decided the PGs in my LP are good enough for PAF sounds,
and just can't get that sound from an alder strat. Ordered a set of Holy Divers
for the Charvel as I've been gassin' for them since I got the Miracle Man set.
Thanks you the input!

Miracle Man or Holy Divers would've been my suggestions!
I have both in different guitars and they'll both do what you're looking for with ease.

Sure HD's will do. My idea was based on your sentence: 'emphasis on blues and classic rock'.

Cool! That's great to hear. Just got 'em today.

I have The same guitar and I'm not happy with the pick ups either. I was considering holy divers as well how do you like yours? Do you still have them in there?
I don't mind the Jazz in my Charvel....it's the JB that sounds muddy and lifeless.

HD will certainly be a big step up from the JB in clarity, dynamics and roundness.
