Title: Pickups for a Schecter Blackjack C7
Post by: gbmbkp93 on February 05, 2012, 02:03:17 PM
Hi all! I've got an old Schecter C7 Blackjack, those are the specs:

·   Mahogany body
·   Maple neck with a rosewood fret board
·   24 frets
·   26.5” scale length.
·   Seymour Duncan pickups JB in the bridge and a ’59 in the neck.
·   Master volume and tone knobs (500 K)
·   Tone Pros bridge
·   Grover tuners
·   Five way switch

I would like to change those orrible Duncans with a pair of Bare Knuckles. I'm looking for a percussive and chuggy sound, to play some prog, djent and also some extreme metal. Which combo do you suggest? I really love the sound of the Aftermaths, but I don't know if they fit well with a mahogany body...

Do they fit well with mahogany body? I've read that a pair of Miracle Man will do well the job... Aren't Aftermaths for basswood guitars?

I have the exact same guitar and was also recommended Aftermaths by Tim, but I want something different.  How would Painkillers, Cold Sweats, or C-bomb bridge/CS neck work for non-djent metal along the lines of Jeff Loomis/Nevermore and heavier.
