Hey everyone, ever have some cool ideas in your head about what your dream guitar would look like?
Well I found this cool website:
http://www.nymphusa.com/kisekae/kisekaeE1.asp
If you scroll down, and click on the model of your choice, you go through to a virtual guitar builder program thing, and get to $% around until you have created your monster guitar!
Here's what I 'created', for lo-fi scuzzy kind of wierdo angular, retro things:
I'd have a low ouput humbucker at the neck (humbucker to counterbalance the feedback from the f hole - which isn't too visible in the photo), and a nice meaty tele singlecoil at the bigsby-equipped bridge. Keeping it simple with just the two controls, one for tone and one for volume, and the pickup switch beneath the pickups for quick switching. Stick it into a fuzzbox and away we go! Somewhere between a classic Danelectro, a Les Paul and a thinline tele...
Design your own and post them, and then cry over the fact we have no money!
-
dude how do you get the pictures ?!?! i made one but cant do anything with it???
-
i've made shredloads- there's a cool jackson one too- www.jcfonline.com/resources/csgen/JCFCustomShop.htm

'print screen' it, then upload it to photobucket, imageshack or whatever. There's loads of different templates on that website, including ibanez, jackson, LP, tele, strat etc, but unforunately no Jazzmaster :(

Same thing. I made this Dragonburst Strat with bigsby Filtertron bridge strat middle and tele neck. I want to save it.
Great site btw. Too bad there isn't an explorer.
I took a digital pic of the screen. I'll post it later.
-
^you can get an explorer on that jackson site i posted up there, ratrod.
Much less options than the other one, but at least it lets you get some different body shapes.
and as willo said, just use "print scrn" and then paste in paint.
-
I've done some Jacksons on that site. It's pretty cool. Somehow the print screen thing doesn't work.
No bigsby available on the jackson forum.

sorry, I might not have been clear enough there. You need to do 'print screen' which is kind of like 'copy' - and so you need to 'paste' the image somewhere. So open up Paint or some similar program, and paste it in there. Save it, and then upload it and link to it here - hopefully that makes a bit more sense!
-
Also, I just clinked the link myself and it didnt go where I wanted it to?
So go here:
http://www.nymphusa.com/tele/
you'll see a 'design your own' kisekae guitar or something, click there et viola! Loads of different guitar shapes! :D
-
Cool waste of time. :)
I have a guitar kinda like the jackson one here and I've just ordered parts for the SG-ish guitar. No BKPs though. :( I'll have to wait til I can afford them. Sucks for me that the CND is half the value of the pound, so BKPs are double price for me.

My custom Jackson...

My custom Jackson...
Wow. I didn't think anyone would have anything brighter than me!
-
Here's me trying to replicate my heavily modded 81' Gibson Les Paul. It's a little more blue/less green but overall a not bad likeness. The guy I bought it from redid the sunburst finish himself. There were no blue/green sunbursts in 1981. :D

-
That blue green sunburst looks fantastic.
-
im still struggling to get mine on here i dunno what to do!!! :(
-
Sexy Ibanez
-
I like them in blue!
-
Jackson RR with a more vintage gibson feel
-
I had to fuse the headstock of an Ibanez onto the body of a soloist to make my S-series model look convincing
-
ok seriously- how do you get them on here??!?!?!?!!?
-
dude, make the guitar. get it on the screen. press the "print Screen" button on your keyboard (above the arrow keys, and delete etc. on top row). Open paint. Click Edit->Paste. Cut out the picture. Click Edit->copy. Open a new page in paint. Click edit-> paste. Click File->save. Save it as a jpg. Come on here. click "browse" under "add an attachment". find your picture. Click on it. click submit.
You really do suck my patience man :P
-
ok i didnt need QUITE such a patronising explanation....
anyway heres a weird tele and a cool spartan lp....
-
Here are some of my creations.

wow the green burst on that strat looks sweet.... strange pickup combo though lol...
-
The strat has a tele bridge and neck pickup and a vintage strat pickup in the middle. One master volume below the switch so it doesn't get in the way when you're strumming hard close to the bridge.
I should build this one.
-
yer you should!!! looks interesting and sounds like it would give you a really different sound...... if you do build it... you have to keep the green burst though :P

-
It looks aliitle boring but it should also have a Bigsby trem witch doesnt appear to be on there
-
I just realised something... Indysmith actually taught me something abou this forum.
Being generally too lazy/busy to look into picture hosting on this site I assumed this forum was like most others and you had to link a site to your reply and host the picture from another site!
Thanks Indy 8)
-
hehe no worries man!
-
yay I made a LP featuring my beautiful face!!!
-
Those colors!.......what were you smoking?

March, is that the exact same Tyler that Guitarist reviewed a while back? Certainly looks like it. Very nice paint job.
-
That site is very addictive.
Steve Mr Pig, this one's for you. The Giger babe Jackson Soloist.
(http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/7400/gigerjackson9eb.th.jpg) (http://img157.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gigerjackson9eb.jpg)
-
Dude that is FIT!
-
Try adding a cats ear pickup (it is an option)
-
I promise, this is the last one I'll post.
Jackson Randy Rhoads featuring Giger's Fallen Angel.
(http://img93.imageshack.us/img93/3471/rrfallenangel2yp.th.jpg) (http://img93.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rrfallenangel2yp.jpg)
Edit: I just found out it's not a Giger but a Luis Royo.
-
This is mine. Any guess as to the inpsiration for the colour scheme? :D[/img]
-
no :? lol - i dont like it
EDIT: WEST HAM COLOURS!!!! omg you loser
EDIT II: You shoulda had yellow pups and headstock
-
west ham is amazing lol... i support chelsea (supported them since i was a kid my dad supported them all his life- i dont support cause of the money!!!) but i went to a game at west ham and the atmosphere was amazing... im like half chelsea half WH fan now....
but i dont suppose many people on here care much for football lol...
-
Ratrod those Giger ones look kickass!
-
I originally made the headstock yellow but thought it looked horrendous. The maple fretboard is close enough to yellow for me :D. I don't want it to look ugly now do I? ;). I decided some time ago that I want a mahogany Strat built for me. It'll be that colour scheme and it'll be called The Hammer. It'll have a set of BKPs in (obviously). Probably a set of Mules and an Apache or a Sultan in the middle. It'll be my all-round electric axe. As Tim quite rightly says with regards to pickups vs styles, it's all about technique. So I'm not bothered about having high output pickups in it. I've already got an axe with a Nailbomb in and that's more than enough output for me :D. Now I just have to get a good job, earn some cash and then contact Johnathon at Feline to see if it can be done.
-Danny :)

Still continuing with my minor telecaster obsession:
You don't really see that kind of burst/pattern colours on many telecasters these day, which is a shame cos I think it looks very nice. I am definitely wanting a telecaster sometime soon, so this may be one option for me :)
-
Id say the only burst that'd look good on a tele is sunburst, they only suit "vintage" colours in my opinion, yours looks too green or something
-
Tip: you can make the colors more transparent. It will show the wood grain behind the paint.
-
i think the opposite of tom lol i dont like sunburst on teles... i think colours like the yellow one yours work much better...
-
here's mine - tastefully done don't you think?
-
erm...it's certainly unique... :D
-
unique and very large if that cat is to scale :P
-
perhaps it's a kitten 8)
-
perhaps it is....
-
Check out this beast:
-
Gochaz that is indeed hot, I'd love that with a bridge humbucker and maybe a maple fingerboard
-
Heres the strat I want for rock! Wouldnt be suitable for bluesy tones but I love the look of it with the zebra pickups and single volume knob!
-
Thanks very much! Yours aint too bad either..
I'm not really a fan of humbuckers, my Strat'd ideally have a mahogany body and a set mahogany neck, with a rosewood or ebony fingerboard, going for that Les Paul Junior type sound. However, god knows what the tremalo would do to the sound. I'm tempted to save up and try to pay someone to build it, actually.
-
Hmmm not really sure what was going on here...

If you're feeling creative, try some of the textures on this site for designing your dream guitar. (Use the DIY function and paste the texture)
I sure had alotta fun with it.
http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/~pbourke/texture/
-
Ended up with a thinline Custom with relic'ed Gretsch finish  Didn't use the Filtertrons because I'd prefer BKP-91/90 in this one
-
This one is as close as I can get to the strat I'm putting together, but in reality she's got a carvin neck and she'll have white pickups, not cream. I think the colour might end up being a bit darker as well.
-
I love these things.
This one I decigned after listening to some iced earth, the basic concept is to be able to go from a heavy metal tone to an acousticy mellow one with the flick of a switch. Then I got a bit carried away and added some extra stuff.
The powerbridge switch is a three way toggle that either has the powerbridge on its own, the nailbomb (and associated electronics) on its own or both mixed in.
The sustainer (fernandes) is pretty self explanitory. As is the coil split switch.
The second tone pot has been swapped for an EMG afterburner that gives a variable amount of added gain. I also put in another EMG gain circuit - the PA2, just for fun.
