Title: EMG 707 Swap Help
Post by: OddFutureWolfGang on February 12, 2012, 12:21:24 AM
Hi, I have a Schecter Loomis guitar and I'm looking to swap the EMGs for BKPs and I've read that some guys buy EMG bass housings and put the BKPs in those so they'll fit but I think it looks like shite personally  so I wanted to know if a covered BKP could fit in that cavity without routing the guitar any further and would mounting rings help cover the gaps left by the EMG route.

It will fit. You just have to contend with the gaps but im pretty sure you can buy pickup rings that cover them but that requires drilling 4 holes in your guitar to mount the pickup rings.

I personally perfer the rehousing option. My other option i cant really say here as it involves another company.

This guy direct-mounted (uncovered) BKPs then covered the gaps with mounting rings:
