Hi, could you tell me what the best combination for Metal would be for a mahogany soloist. I want the brisge to be crunchy, high output, capable of extreme metal, and I want the neck pickup to be very warm great for speed picking and sweeping. I was thinking a ceramic Nailbomb in the bridge and a cold sweat in the neck.
thanks in advance

What exactly do you mean by extreme metal?

I think he means Black Metal-Death Metal, and what some people refer to as Blackend Death Metal. I can't keep up with all these labels.

When you say a Mahogany Soloist, is it a Maple Neck Thru? As that can make all the difference. It will be brighter, but also have a better Bass transfer.
If it is a maple Neck Thru, a Nailbomb (Ceramic) may be too bright, although the mahogany may tame it. A Miracle Man serves very well (although the treble rating seems high, it seems to sound actually quite good in bright guitars), but if you want something less tame, maybe try the Aftermath, although it is quite dry and requires you to adjust your picking technique to preciseness as it tracks really accurate.
If it's a Mahogany Neck Thru, then I say C-Bomb all the way. It's an awesome pickup.
For neck, I beg you to get a Cold Sweat. It's greattttttt, as Tony would say :P

I see three good options for you:
1. Cold Sweat set
2. C-Bomb bridge/Cold Sweat neck
3. Miracle Man bridge/Cold Sweat neck
Cheers Stephan
