I bought a set of Crawler + Mother's Milk pickups last year, and I love the way they sound.
However, I experience an insane feedback while playing what I consider a "small venue concert" volume on my amp.
This is just when I'm using the singlecoils with gain or overdrive.
The body is shielded with copper tape, I've been going over the schematics three or four times, and I can't find anything wrong.
Can someone please help me?

What kind of guitar is it? Is it hollow, semi hollow, or solid body? What kind of amp? When using distortion or overdrive, where is the gain knob set?
Also, what kind of feedback is it? Is it a high pitched, screeching feedback or a lower pitched resonant feedback?
-
If I remember right, the guitar was a Warmoth Strat type!
(No idea what's wrong, I'm afraid...)

Sorry can't help much... Just a question: is that the "muslcal" kind fo feedback (hey, we don't all share the same definition of "small venue concert" volume ;)), or is that the "squealing pig" kind ?

If it's squealing, then it's probably microphonic feedback. That's an infinite feedback loop, if I remember correctly, and it's definitely a problem. If it's the lower pitched feedback, then that's often normal depending on how much gain you're using.
I've actually had the microphonic feedback problem with high gain at medium volume levels when using single coils, but that was in a mostly hollow guitar.

It's a solid body, swamp ash stratocaster.
The feedback is the kind of feedback you get when you point a regular microphone (the ones you can sing into...) towards any kind of monitor or speaker. Pretty much unwanted noise, and nothing close to "musical" feedback.
I'm using a Diezel Herbert 180W amp. Gain set to about 40-50%. I don't see how this would affect this issue, because I can use almost every other guitar with singlecoils through the amp without having this problem.
I'm starting to think that the pickups isn't properly waxed...

Yeah that's definitely the microphonic feedback. Unfortunately it is probably the pickups then. You should give bare knuckle an email as soon as possible and let them know what's going on

What Roland said.
Good luck,

Just spoke to Tim, the support guy.
We got it all sorted out, and I'm sending the pickups back so that they can pot them for me.
:D
