Title: Which magnet?
Post by: falcon1439 on February 17, 2012, 11:25:31 AM
I have an alder body super strat with an all maple neck. I was wondering if the ceramic warping would make the guitar too bright? I play shred and metal. The fast response of the ceramic really appeals to me,but there's no point being fast if everyone's ears hurt because of the piercing treble. Thanks in advance.

The ceramic warpig thankfully isn't too bright - it's really nice
Works well in Alder IMO - we put one in forum member Davey's Jackson and it sounded great

I have yet to find a BKP humbucker that is too bright. The brightest I have played/play is the Cold Sweat bridge and even that one is not too bright. Of course the guitar has a lot of influence on the final outcome.

Cheers Stephan

I don't have all BKP's but a reasonable number and none has an annoying topend. The great balance strikes me everytime I play them. Of course some have more treble, but there is enough roundness in the topend. I think results depend a lot on the amp and eq-settings and the guitar itself. What helps is to use the toneknob on the guitar. Just a tad back round out brighter pickups.
