Title: Looking for £30 set of Studio Headphones. Suggestions?
Post by: Attica! on February 28, 2012, 03:52:32 PM
Ok, so my current ones are now extinct so I have £30 to spend on a new set. When i say £30 I mean no more as that's all I have on Paypal. which reminds me, the place I'm buying from has to accept paypal, so ebay would be a good idea.

I'm using it for my Pod GX to write stuff during the night, as well as to do some recording. I know for £30 I'm not going to get the best but i'd like to get the best for what I can afford.

Cheers

Have you looked at the lower end Sennheiser range? HD202 or 201 might do the job, for prices that low I'd get in ear headphones myself though.

30 quid isn't going to get you anything super-amazing.

i would take a punt at some low-end sennheisers.

My mate has actually just reccommended me the HD 202s, so they look a good candidate.

Ever heard about Superluxes? I own Superlux 668B: http://www.superlux.com.tw/productInfo.do?pdctid=17f81435-74a5-48b2-af35-202a1d1730b2&pdkid=3a182f85-9464-41bf-b4c7-d618102f84ac&level=2&lv0=1 (http://www.superlux.com.tw/productInfo.do?pdctid=17f81435-74a5-48b2-af35-202a1d1730b2&pdkid=3a182f85-9464-41bf-b4c7-d618102f84ac&level=2&lv0=1) and I think they DO THE JOB. They are detailed and kinda bright sounding, so you need to be careful with sound you're creating, it can be muddy on normal speakers. During the two first weeks of using (actually depends how often you're using them), high frequencies can be a little harsh, but later it gets better. They need some time to "heat up". I would definitely go for them one more time. I am actually planing to buy 669 closed version :)

You can also go for:
