Title: legal types, advice wanted...
Post by: HTH AMPS on March 03, 2012, 03:55:34 PM
My curiosity has been piqued by The Bill Of Exchange Act 1882, it appears to take a bill that a company sends you and turns it into a request (by you) back to the same company.  I'm sure its not that simple, but what validity does this have? - can I send the Giroslip my credit card company sends me back to them and effectively tell them to get stuffed?

Here's a very interesting discussion on this matter...  http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/sutra345844.php

I'm all for fu*cking with the financial institutions, give them some of their own medicine.

So, legal types, what say you?   8)

I don't know - certainly there is no 'English Bills of Exchange Act 1882' (there is a 'Bills of Exchange Act 1882')  -  why don't you buy this book and find out:
