Hey guys.
I've got a Tele I'm in the midst of putting together.
-2" thick poplar body
-One piece maple warmoth vintage modern neck
-One volume knob
(http://i42.tinypic.com/96ausp.jpg)
I play through 2 RedBear MK60's with a Maxon 808 up front.
-My band tunes to D standard and we have some songs in Drop C
Here's an example (though most of our newer stuff is more "southern (hard) rock oriented": http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_11054153
What do you think would suit me better?

Don't expect here to raise much votes for anything else then BKP's. I would pick the Supermassive bec it handles lower tunings and it greats for any type of rock.
-
I've just got a stockholm P90 size for my les paul special double cut. Amazing pickup, from classic rock to metal easily.
-
I vote for the Supermassive. The Pig90 might be too over the top for your needs. I haven't played any Lollars but it seems like they have a good rep. I even think BKP frontman Tim acknowledges they make good pickups, just not as good as BKPs. But I think the Lollar p90 might be too polite when lined up with the Supermassive and the Pig90 even if you get an overwound model as it's voiced to be a classic p90 and not modern, if my memory serves me correct.

my MQ bridge is 10.5k and has plenty of balls - I would however go with a Supermassive for what you want, its got more grunt while being fairly versatile.
if you want all out warfare, the Pig90 will bring a new meaning to 'br00talz' - if you only play dirty and nasty, get this.
-
By the way. Looks like a cool no nonsense talking tele! It just needs a normal headstock :D

Supermassive is great!
Go for stockholm (15.3k), if you want something between supermassive e pig90.

Now I'm thinking about this as well.
Man I can't decide!!
What takes fuzz pedals really well (Earthbound Supercollider and ZVEX Fuzz Factory)

If you like muse, he uses Mississipi Queen neck position pickup.
But between the 3 from the trend, I would choose Supermassive over Pig because if you can afford pedals and you're not a purist, you must choose something that can be used how you want, not "This is a perfect metal and hard rock machine" thing. If you are in a southern rock band, try to search the more blues oriented pickups and add some OD.

Lollar p90s are painfully polite and smooth. I could not stand them as it felt like they took all aggression in my playing and tossed it aside. I removed them and eventually sold the guitar they were in.
I have not tried the bareknuckle p90s as my current p90 equipped guitars have 1950s Gibsons, which frankly rock, and removal would devalue old guitars. Also, frankly, they sound awesome and I don't want to mess with them.
The lollars to me are a fine product, but probably not what you are looking for. IMO, they were more blues/jazz oriented.
-
I would also say that the Lollars are very "friendly" in their attitude. I like that for the neck position but not so much for the bridge position where I like a bit more aggression.

Lollars have a lot of fans too. I have still a Suhr teleset lying around and those are nice pickups as well. It just depends on what kind of music you play and the tone you're after.

I should have included the Stockholm in the poll as well.
Cool beans, so clearly the Lollar is not what I'm looking for.
Now if I could just decide between the 3 BKP's.
I initially really wanted the Pig 90, but I'm just apprehensive as to any lack of "crunch" or top end "bite".
"Too fat"?
Than I'm afraid that the Supermassive won't have enough "oomph" to push my preamps.
Which leads me to believe the the Stockholm might be the happy medium?
I emailed Tim, but never got a response.

Revisiting this topic as the Tele is just about to be finished (been really busy -- took longer than usual)
I decided I wanted a little more output than the Supermassive, so I'm now deciding between the Stockholm and Pig 90.
Of those who have experience, which one has more "crunch"?
I tend to prefer raunchy mids, like in a Duncan Distortion.
