My first post on these forums. :D
I'm planning on getting a C-bomb bridge, sinner middle and Dimarzio Super 2 neck in my laser blue RG870z, all uncovered.

Can anyone tell me for which colours BK and Dimarzio colours are very similar... and I mean very similar.
Pictures would be helpful. :)
At the moment I want to get all three in yellow, but I don't want the Dimarzio neck to be slightly off colour.
Any colour combos and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot, Chris.

I think you'll have trouble getting an exact match - not only because of the colours, but DiMarzio bobbins have a matt appearance whereas BKPs are glossy. Might be better to have mismatched colours to disguise the differences!
Welcome to the forum, by the way!

I agree with the missmatch color idea. I replaced a pink Evo in a JEM with a green C-Bomb (best tone move ever). If I went with pink it would not jive with the matte pink Evo in the neck, until I replaced it with a pink Painkiller (second best tone move ever). From a distance, it was negligable, and it didn't look aweful up close because the colors were different. Check on DiMarzio yellow; I want to say it was glossy in an RG I jammed on once. Another way to disguise it would be zebra yellow/black, yellow sinner, and zebra black/yellow, but obviously not if you don't want zebra pickups!

Thanks for the replies guys.
Seems like a single colour or a symmetrical pattern would be tricky to get right.
I think I'll give the BKs and Dimarzio two different colours.
At the moment thinking yellow BKs and a red or chrome top Super 2 with red selector and knobs.
ATTACK OF THE PRIMARY COLOURS!!
Or just give up on the Super 2 and get a PK... but that's for another thread.

Although I am an elderly traditionalist, I think that would look pretty cool on the blue guitar.

Thanks Philly, I guess I was always one for a bit more of an unconventional look.
Now I've got the problem of matching Dimarzio red and the knobs, doh!
Do you happen to know a provider of coloured knobs and selector tips?
-
They're easy to find on eBay - I don't know about the quality, though. And as for matching the DiMarzio colours.... good luck!
(Didn't DiMarzio themselves make knobs and switch tips to match their pickups? Maybe they don't any more, though.)
