As mentioned in my other thread it was my 30th recently and I decided to make my favourite guitar better. Its a PRS McCarty IRW neck. Ive had it a few years and taken an interest in the pups Twinfan and Hunter had in theirs. My GF offered to pay for all the work (lucky me) so its had quite a bit done to it. I took it to Feline guitars who has done a mighty fine job here. Had issues with my camera so been a few weeks before I could post.
New pots and Capacitors (BKP jensen i think).
50's wiring.
VHII in Neck and Bridge
Tone Pro bridge.
Full fret dress and set up.
Really is a wonderful guitar . Im loving the bridge in particular. Much more clarity then the original pickups. It was a darker / middier guitar to start so these pickups really suit. Would highly recommend these pups and Feline Guitars work.

Congrats. Beautiful guitar. Those VHII's are wicked, I love the VHII in my Fender American Series ash strat.

Looks good to me.

It does indeed :D
And now you're faced with "hmmm... shall I play this one or the new strat?"
Hope you've got enough free time at the moment to do both :D

Beautiful guitar! And a good move to switch the pickups - those McCartys are rather dull sounding IMHO.
I must say I played one McCarty that was great with the McCarty pickups, so were a Custom 22 and a Custom 22 Trem, and I know that I don't like the Dragon II pickups they come with either.
Enjoy!

+1 :D
I intend to change the pickups on my McKorina at some point, but not sure what I'm going to get.

I had two non-rosewood mccarties (a 2000 and a 1996)
they both had dragon II and mccarty pickups
dragon II was thin, bright and too compressed
mccarty was fine and quite thick, but needed more clarity and top end
I swap the bridge mccarty on the 1996 with my custom thick magnet riff raff and it was a huge improvement
it sounded a bit less thick, but a lot punchier, brighter, more open, and let's say, about 40% clearer under high gain
that was definitely the best sounding guitar I ever had, but I'm a les paul guy (literally, if you check my avatar )

Exactly my experience. But to achieve these three things in one and the same pickup is an achievement in itself.
Cheers Stephan

I want some VHII's. I'll have to have another NGD first though.
