Hey guys.
Here's a clip I recorded whilst I was off work yesterday:
http://soundcloud.com/browsif/fool-for-your-lovin-hds
For anyone that may be interested this is the signal chain:
Patrick Eggle Climaxe Guitar: Ash body/Anegree cap, Maple neck/Rosewood fretboard, Floyd Rose Trem, BKP Holy Diver Pickups in bridge and neck.
Splawn Quick Rod Amp: Gear 2 with gain at 6, EQs to taste (depending on the track). The amps volumes were on about 3, with the overall level being controlled by the FX Loop Master Volume that these amps have. It affects the tone ever so slightly, but not enough that I won't use it and go deaf instead!
Zilla Cabs 'Fatboy' with 2 Celestion Vintage 30s
Audix I5 mic for close miking, Blue Baby Bottle for room miking
M-Audio Cheapie Audio Interface and Mic Pre Amp
There were 3 guitar parts recorded: main thythm parts (1 take) and 2 harmony parts (1 take each).
I appreciate that the playing is a bit ropey and there's timing issues, but I struggled to hear the backing track due to being in the same room as the amp
There's no post production done at all apart from a bit of panning of the various tracks and some housekeeping tidying up the stray noises when not recording.
It was also done in the dining room of my house so there's no acoustic treatment etc and there's furniture vibrating which I don't think you can hear but I'm sure someone will point it out
Cheers.

Cheers for the clips Craig.
They've pretty much helped me finalise my decision.
you should post up the clean ones as well they were very helpful

Cheers Tony!
Here's the clean clips Tony mentioned:

I'm not overly happy with these, but Tony just wanted some clean stuff to try and help him decide if he wanted HDs or not 8)

Nice organic crunch. They don't sound very 80's metal in this clip.

My amp wasn't really setup for an 80s sort of tone, but they certainly work for that stuff when required :D

It just underlines that a lot of BKP's are versatile.
