Got my Bare Knuckles are installed in my Custom, replaced the stock Classic 57s, soooooooo goooooood! I went with an Abraxas set, brushed nickel covers, basically a HOT version of a PAF style 'bucker with some EQ refinements ie; tighter bass and smoother highs. :thumb:
Got dat 4 conductor version to give me more variety, wired with series/parallel options for each HB individually, all controlled via 2 push/push tone pots. I much prefer parallel options to coil tap, should've tried this out awhile ago. Tone remains plenty full, just a bit brighter and more chimey. Also, there's very little perceived output loss and they remain hum canceling, good shite!
Decided to take a crack at aging my nickel hardware while I was at it. The tuners turned nice and dull almost immediately when I got this guitar but the Tonepros bridge and tailpiece were holding onto their shine for dear life. Went with the white vinegar method, suspend parts in a closed container with a shallow layer of household vinegar, watch closely, remove before the nickel finish is eaten right the $% off. Came out nicely imo.

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!
Been playing a few hours tonight, these pickups are absolutely KILLER, a stunning improvement! The high output makes it a much livelier sounding instrument, more wide open and full with a far better EQ balance. Gone are the loose bass and shrill highs. Lows are nice and tight while upper register is smoothed significantly and those parallel clean tones are perfection.
Awesome work BKP, great design all round!

Cool - that is something entirely different from the flashbursts and 80s graphics.
Enjoy!

I think we're all agreed, nice to see an LP that's still traditional but gets away from the run-of-the-mill colours! :D
