Title: NGD PRS Special
Post by: JSX212 on April 14, 2012, 01:03:57 AM
PRS Custom 22 Special: 10-Top, 245 Humbucking pickups with a Lindy Fralin single coil in the middle, coil splitting, sheer beauty of an upgrade for me. Notes sustain like a dream. May switch out those 245 pickups for some Mules or Abraxas. What do you guys think?

Beautiful guitar! Must be versatile with special pickupconfiguration.

Not sure I would swap the pickups out. I liked the HBs when I had a 245. YMMV of course.

Nice looking guitar, I nearly got myself a swamp ash special once. IS this model a similar sort of spec? I'm not too up on PRS stuff.

Guitar looks lovely.  Personlly I would just enjoy the guitar for a little while before you swap any pickups.

Beautiful!

I don't really like the look of the single-coil in the middle, but I'm sure it must add some interesting extra sounds.

I have never liked PRS guitars, I will say though thats only because my old band mate played one and he was a d**k so it put me off. Yours looks very nice though, grats.

I second don't go changing the pickups just because you can. There was a point where i was about to swap out every pickup i owned for BKP's just because. Then i sat and listened to the what i had and decided i some of my guitars sounded great as they where. Saying that the main change was on my PRS. It's a MCarty and while the hardwear and wood spec was what i was looking for, the pickups weren't. Mcarty pickups just weren't ouputty or modern enough for me. i still think there's a guitar those Mcarty pickups will work for me in. Maybe a Guild S100 if i can ever get the hold of one.

People around here need to stop posting PRS NGDs....anything PRS in general. By now I already want one quite badly, but I donīt have enough money...not even close..

Now I saw another nice PRS which even has HSH...last thing I needed to see.

Congrats and screw you for wanting to have me go broke!^^

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I do agree with you guys, I'm gonna play the guitar stock for a while - maybe down the road i'll change the pups  8)
