Hi guys,
After long time playing with Gibson P-94's in my 1984 Les Paul Custom, I'm returning to the humbucker world. I really enjoyed the original pickups the guitar came with, but sadly I've sold them years ago.
Now I'm searching for something relatively similar to that spirit, I downtune a lot (Sometimes to A) but I don't want Djent sound or things like that. Something like YOB, Torche, etc...Powerful but not with that modern thightness...I need a decent clean tone, too.
Basically I'm searching for something that respects the great wood of this guitar, a kind of upgrade to the original pickups...hotter.
Any suggestion will be very appreciated!

Coldsweat, you may enjoy that one for the bridge.

Not sure what Gibson used 1984 as original equipment on their Les Pauls but I guess they were Shaw designed PAF type pickups. If you want something similar and suited for downtuning, look at the Black Dogs. They are described as having a fat vintage tone and as suited for downtuning.
Cheers Stephan

Maybe the rebel yell for staying clear with the massive downtuning...

I think Black Dogs go well with Les Paul Customs.

How about Emeralds? They have great high gain tones, as well as phenomenal clean tones :)

I have to say that I mis-read your post. Coldsweat is too tight. Ha.
The Blackdogs are pretty bad ass. I have to go with those who have suggested these.
